Regulatory body within the medical profession requires an analyst to provide administrative and organisational support primarily in the area of quality evidence that underpins the quality assurance (QA) of medical education.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Liaise with and be the first point of contact for internal teams and external organisations providing or sharing evidence for QA.

Develop and project manage the annual collection and analysis of information from key stakeholders.

Develop and project manage the collection and analysis of information from one of the four UK health systems regulators.

Identify and lead on projects to develop the accuracy and utility of the evidence base.

Organise meetings that support the development and implementation of the shared evidence, effectively issuing agendas, collating papers and disseminating to attendees in advance of the meetings and take minutes for each meeting.

Ensure compliance with ethical and data protection standards.

Maintain accurate and clear records of all internal and external evidence.

Prepare statistics and evidence reports.

Undertake receipt, recording, processing and analysis of evidence to provide a full report of received information.

Contribute to the collation of monthly statistics reports as and when required.

Answer queries that arise via written correspondence, e-mail and phone within agreed Directorate timeframes.

 

Key Skills:

 

Effective use of IT systems including MSWord, MS Excel and Outlook

Fluency in analytical software programmes (such as SPSS) and in use of relational query language (such as SQL) is desirable.

The ability to work within established policies and procedures.

To have an understanding of the Data Protection Act and the importance of maintaining confidentiality at all times, particularly in relation to the ethical requirements for survey data.

An understanding of quality assurance processes.

Knowledge of different research methods utilised for surveys and sampling methods.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a good understanding of statistical concepts

The ability to work to high standards of accuracy and attention to detail when producing and analysing data sets within required specifications and deadlines. Part of the role will be to provide guidance and prioritisation to other members of the team.

The ability to summarise and articulate complex issues concisely and accurately in response to helpline calls and emails.

An ability to develop and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.

The post may require occasional travel to locations around the United Kingdom. This may include overnight stays.
