In addition, the successful candidate will lead on the implementation of risk management arrangements, ensuring the approach to managing risk is linked to the strategic aims and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
To lead on the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of corporate strategy, business and operational planning processes, ensuring corporate ownership and compliance and alignment with budget processes.
To oversee and continue to develop the processes for reporting on performance, to the various stakeholders, ensuring that key issues are identified and understood and that areas of significance are highlighted.

To lead on the development of the work programme for the Performance Board, provide high quality secretariat support, and deliver specific pieces of work for the Board as required.
Develop effective working relationships with a range of key external organisations, promoting the work of the organisation and identifying opportunities for sharing best practice and co-ordinating with other organisations
Key skills:
A recent and successful track record in a relevant business planning, risk management and organisational performance reporting role is essential, as is a good understanding of why these corporate processes are important to a high profile public body.
An excellent track record in analysis and management reporting with strong ability to present management information in a succinct, digestible format.
Excellent project and/or programme management skills, together with demonstrable experience of having contributed to a complex programme of work.
The intellectual and analytical skills to understand the complex issues around medical regulation, coupled with the ability to think strategically and to generate creative solutions.
Excellent written communication skills. The post holder must be able to present data on complex issues clearly and succinctly for a range of internal and external audiences, and must be able to draft documents accurately and quickly.
The ability to prepare and present tailored reports to suit the needs of a range of internal and external audiences.
The self-confidence and professional credibility to gain the support of staff at all levels within the organisation as well as key external stakeholders.
Formal line management experience is desirable, but more important is the ability to lead and manage those supporting corporate processes such as business planning, risk management and organisational performance evaluation.
