Regulatory body within the medical profession requires a Policy Analyst to support the development of education policy in line with the organisations’ functions and identified projects, under the overall direction of the Policy Manager.
Responsibilities:
To contribute to the development and review of policy in relation to medical education, in particular the standards for education and training.
To identify and research issues and, where appropriate, develop associated policy propositions and arguments for and against them. To present these proposals and arguments both orally and in clear, succinct, written papers and documents for public and specialist audiences within tight deadlines and with the utmost attention to detail.
To establish and administer working groups, including the development of working papers and presentations and producing accurate notes of meetings.
To develop strategies for engagement and consultation on education policy. This will include the identification of target audiences, establishing the need for public and other events and determining consultation distribution methods.
To analyse responses and report on the outcomes of engagement and consultation activities.
To respond to internal and external enquiries in relation to Education Policy.

the institutions, systems and environment in which medical education and training is delivered.
A knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards and outcomes, and quality assurance systems.
To be able to communicate and present arguments clearly and concisely through both written and oral means in a fluent and persuasive manner.
To be able to engage in a professional way with external audiences and in response to their issues and queries.
To be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team, being comfortable operating at all levels of the organisation.
To be able to work on his or her initiative and without close supervision, monitoring progress towards agreed objectives.
To be able to identify and facilitate improvements to policy and process to improve efficiency and effectiveness and to address problems as they arise.
To demonstrate initiative at all times.
