Leading professional camera and lighting rental company requires an Operations Assistant Manager to efficiently manage the lighting operations department, ensuring that the quality of equipment and service level exceeds client satisfaction at all times.

Key responsibilities:

To lead and manage operations staff to maximum efficiency and be proactive in developing their skills and knowledge.

Ensure that the warehouse is clean, tidy and accurately labelled at all times.

To liaise with all departments to ensure continuity of business and overall effective running of the company.

To monitor and maintain the overall quality and efficiency of the company’s procedures, systems and services.

To develop sound product knowledge including current trends, new items and market awareness.

To manage the computer inventory system to maximum efficiency, monitoring stock quantities with a view to improving availability issues.

To assist visiting clients with advice and product knowledge.

Look to exceed customer service/satisfaction expectations.

Respond to account handler’s enquiries and urgent delivery requests, liaising with the Transport department for quickest possible delivery.

To participate in management meetings as and when required and to produce information as requested.

To effectively set up training programs.

To review, develop and implement departmental standard operating procedures.

To conduct staff appraisals in areas of your authority.

To ensure staffing levels are sufficient to cover the needs of the division on a daily basis.

Maintain stocks of consumable/sales items, placing purchase orders as necessary, complying with company stock take and stock holding policy.

Negotiate best price, while developing good supplier relationships.

Skills and experience:

Thorough knowledge of flash & continuous lighting equipment, Lighting grip, cabling and electrical distribution systems.

3 years experience at a managerial or supervisory level. 

Excellent interpersonal skills/good communication

Organisation and leadership

Ability to take initiative and to work through the implications of unusual, or non-systematic events

Excellent numeracy and literacy.

PC literate to include Outlook, Internet, Word and Excel.
